Question 3
What kind of media institution might disturbute your media product and why?
After doing extensive research, we discovered that StudioCanal would be a viable distributor for our film "Presence". The company produced a film called "The Apparition" which is extremely similar to "Presence", due to the concept of the film and the possessed female character. It's also a horror genre, which "Presence" also is.
Not only that, Studio Canal have distributed a wide array of commercially and critically acclaimed films with many different themes of genres. One of the company's most early distributions was "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" which was massively successful and proves the company has experience with distributing massive films as well as smaller/lower budget films. A distributor with this kind of experience and expertise is what is needed to distribute our film and have it make the largest profit.

Warner Brothers is one of the big six film production companies and could easily produce and distribute our film as they are so popular and well known. Warner Brothers also produce a lot of films with a massive variety of different genres. "You're Next" is only one example of Warner Brothers producing horror. Lionsgate  Lionsgate is another well known distributor and producer of horror films, distributing films such as Saw.Production company
We created our own company logo called 'EB Productions'. By doing this, people would then associate the logo with the film, and therefore make it recognizable for other films. We wanted the logo to be recognized for creating intense, good quality films, attracting audiences of teens and above. It would most likely be an independent film distributor and would consist of British films, due to the location of its origin.
Marketing
The film would be marketed by advertisements in the cinema beforehand, TV spots, a website on the internet and just general word of mouth. The film could be popular enough to be showed in mainstream cinemas such as Cineworld, Odean and Vue and among the most popular cinema companies, and our film playing there would be absolutely brilliant as those cinemas attract a massive amount of potential viewers, both in and outside of our target audience.
Post cinema screening, it would most definitely be released on DVD and shown on TV under perhaps Sky Movies and on Virgin. If successful enough, a contract could be negotiated to allow it to be streamed on sites such as Netflix and Lovefilm Instant.
All of these distribution methods follow the method in which most films would be released, so following them would be the most obvious course of action.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
This is a screenshot of the editing process we used on premier. This shows the software we used. The small squares represent how we edited and cut the clips together. Also how we added sound effects, the soundtrack we used throughout, foley, and added audio.
This screen shot shown above demonstrates how we improved the quality of lighting. The screen shot below shows how the original lighting was way to bright, and distorted the shot. We changed this by getting rid of the bright lights when filming, and just used the natural lighting. We filmed a lot earlier so that we wouldn't have to use extra lighting, and could just work with what we had. We tried editing the lighting on premier, but it just looked grainy and not very profesional.

Looking back on your preliminary task, whar do you feel you learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
