Final Opening

Juno opening scene remake

For this project we had to remake the opening scene of Juno. Before we started to film each clip we made a storyboard, the story board had 10 different clips that we drew out to help us when we made the film. The good things about our remake of the scene would be that we made sure that all of our shots were the same as what we saw on the original. We made sure we had the props and environment that the original scene has. This way it looks more like the original scene of Juno. When we was filming we made sure that we put the camera is the right shot and the angle was the way it should be. Overall we found it fun to film but was very challenging having to get the right shots at the right amount of time set for each shot. Next time the things that we should improve could be the environment we filmed each set in this would mean that it would be more alike to the original scene and it would look better. We could improve the steadiness of the camera and the way the camera shots were taken. After we had finished filming we downloaded the shots that we filmed onto premier to help edit and move around each shot. When we used this software we changed the editing of the shots, we made them a different colour, and transitions, also added the music of the original Juno opening scene to make it more alike.
We also got feedback from the rest of the class after they watched our Juno re make. The feedback that we got was that our shots from the camera were accurate and steady. Our effects on the video are very good the way we changed the brightness to fit the original video. The transitions that we used were good and were appropriate to fit with the actual Juno video. The lightening that we used was different and sometimes didn't go. Over all we were told our video was very good and very well edited and was also someones favorite to watch.

Mise-En-Scene

The film insidious 2 has a different setting from the beginning to the end. At the start of the film it looks like a good friendly environment with lots of people who are good friends. It was a bright exciting environment. The characters in the film dressed casual as well as their hair and makeup. The moods of each character was exciting and happy and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. The setting changed after a while when the mood got gloomy, the setting got dark and the moods of all the characters were scared and shocked about what had happened and what could still happen. It was dark in each of the scenes, alot of flashing lights to make it look more scary. The costume of the actors are quite casual they don't change the way they dress throughout the film even though the scenes do change. The lights on the film change a lot during the film. Some scenes it is bright and sunny, this is at the start when everyone seems to be excited to see each other. When the film starts to get scary the lightening changes, it starts to get more scary and when this happens the light gets dark more gloomy and it changes the way the audience see the film. They become more scared too because of the lightening. One of the props in the film that is seen alot is the phone that has been made by two cups and a piece of string. This is shown at the start of the film when the dad is holding it with the rest of the family and its also shown when the scenes change throughout the film, this would be when the young boy is in his dream and also when both of the boys are talking to each other through it from there beds. The make up of the actors is casual. The make up of the characters that you don't always see, the more scary characters, have got more makeup on to make them look unrealistic and scary.

Representation in a film opening

In this trailer you can see that their is a particular character who gets a lot of attention because of the way she works and the way she dresses and acts. This character is in her 20's. This character is known to work in the playboy mansion and it isn't hard to work that out.You can see that the female character is this film is being looked out by a lot of people when she comes out of the mansion because of the way she has been bought up and where she has worked. You can see that she has been working in the playboy mansion as it shows you that she works there before she leaves. You can see that the female gets a lot of attention by the way people look at her and what they say to her, mostly males. (male gaze). The Dyer theory is appropriate to this trailer as the way that the girl is dressed is the way that people think of her. The way that she acts, says things and dresses all comes down to stereotypes and Dyer says stereotypes come down to power. Because of the way she does things this makes people think she is different to them. It will make people treat her differently because of her appearance. People watching the film can tell the character is represented differently because of the way the camera is placed when shes doing different things, the way the characters look at her and what they say to her and the way that the audience feel towards the character. The representation only reflects the way she is on herself. You can see throughout the trailer that the backgrounds make the audience see that shes a typical stereotyped female, as well as the looks that she gets, the way that she talks, and the image that she pulls off. As part of the audience you can tell that you are meant to look at the female in the way that males would to. Seeing the meaning of the film i would agree on the way that the the way the female is shown will be the way that stereotypical people would see the character as. You can tell this from a visual prospective. The representation on every film gives off a meaning.

Representation theory

The male gaze
The cinema apparatus of hollywood cinema puts the audience in a masculine subject position with the women on the screen. Women are forced to look at women like men would. eg the way men stare at women if they was to come out of the sea in their bikini, women are made to look at this the way in which men would too.

The bechdal test
- it has to have to two names women in it.
- The two women have to have a conversation together.
- The conversation they have cant be about men.

Myths
Usually in regards to people and places. fairtale scenery.

Photo genre task

Action

This genre given for this photo was action. we choose to take a picture of a boy at the start of a sprinting track as it gives off the impression that when he starts the race something interesting could happen. The picture is serious as you can tell from facial expressions and the way the picture is taken.
Comedy
This genre given for this photo is comedy. You can see that the boy is being put into the bin by the girl. This is different and funny as the girl that is 'bullying' the boy into the bin is much smaller then the boy that has been put into the bin. Whilst the girl is standing over the boy about to put the lid of the bin on his head it gives the impression that he's done something wrong. You can tell he doesn't like what is going on from the way he is positioned and his facial expressions.
Romcom
The genre is this photo is romcom. This is an easy photo  to work out the romance that is going on between the two people. The hug shows a romantic theme from these people.
Fantasy
The genre is this photo is fantasy. The tree is a stereotypical fantasy symbol that would give off woods or a forest the same in which a fantasy film would be. The pair of feet that is hanging from the tree makes you wonder what the girl hiding behind the tree is given off. By the facial expression is could be something suspicious, or is this a lie?

Camera shots

This is a close up camera shot, the camera was a tilt up movement, with a high angle.

This is a extra close camera shot that has an angle of high camera looking down. the camera of the movement is tilt up.

This is a This is a medium camera shot. The camera is at a high angle. The movement of this angle was tilt up.

This is a close up camera shot, the angle of the camera is level with the character, the movement would be tracking.
This is a long camera shot. The angle of the camera is high, and the movement would be tilt up.
This is a long camera shot. The angle of the shot is level and the movement of the camera is stedicam.

Representation

The colour on the cover shows that this is a girly magazine. Straight away you see the pink heading that stands out from the rest of the magazine. Another reason you can see this magazine is for girls is because of the girl on the front. Other headings such as 'fashion camp'
The girl modelling the magazine looks modern and will attract teenage girls. You can see by the fonts on the magazine cover that it is for a teenage girl, most of the colouts are pink and purple. The model on the front of the magazine could be an idol for teenage girls. The headings on the magazine are big and would attract the target audience to read the magazine.

Pitch presentation

For this task we were asked to make our own presentaion that told you about the film that we had thought of, in the presentation it includes; what happens in the film, the characters in the film, what each character does, how we would market the film and the plot of the film.
Over all our pitch was giving good marks and a lot of people said they would go and see it. We got marked highly mainly on how different the plot to our film was, it wasn't a typical fantasy film as we made it a lot different for the viewers. We also got good marks for the many ideas we thought of for the promotion and marketing of our product.
The things we could of changed was the amount of characters we had, they were mixed US and UK actors. Some characters didn't have to be in the film they were just put in as extras, Also we didnt mention everything that all the characters do, and all the reasons why we choose them characters. This is a good and bad reason. Good because some of the viewers thought we had to many characters so talking about them more could of bored them. Bad because we could of shortened the character list and made the remaining characters more interesting.

opening title

The light pink and purple background gives the impression that the film is a girly film. Light purple colours make the film look girly and make it also gives off the impression that the film is going to be a teenage girl film. The way the character at the front is standing, on her own and away from the others gives off that she is one of the main characters but she is different to everyone else. The way that the character at the front is dressed differently to the others that are standing in the background also shows that she is different to other girls. The character at the front is dressed in a completely different way to what the others are, this character showing no skin and dressing more mature. Her facial expressions and the way that she is standing also goes to show that they are different to the way in which the other characters are standing. You can also see from the facial expressions of the main character that she doesn't know the other three girls and that why she could be giving them such a 'dirty look'.The three girls at the back show that they are a lot more immature, you can see this by the way that they are dressed, short skirts, kitten heels, and most of them being dressed in pink. The girls could think this would make them more popular. The three girls at the back of the cover could also show that they are important in the film because they are also known as always being together during the film. The way the girls at the back are standing gives off that they could think they are more important then anyone else.
With all the clothes that you can see the characters wearing gives off that is could be a happy cheerful film that will interest teenage girls.
In the trailer of the film you can see this will be a cheerful film by the uplifting music and the characters being happy, smiling and friendly.
