Final Opening

Representation in a film opening

In this trailer you can see that their is a particular character who gets a lot of attention because of the way she works and the way she dresses and acts. This character is in her 20's. This character is known to work in the playboy mansion and it isn't hard to work that out.You can see that the female character is this film is being looked out by a lot of people when she comes out of the mansion because of the way she has been bought up and where she has worked. You can see that she has been working in the playboy mansion as it shows you that she works there before she leaves. You can see that the female gets a lot of attention by the way people look at her and what they say to her, mostly males. (male gaze). The Dyer theory is appropriate to this trailer as the way that the girl is dressed is the way that people think of her. The way that she acts, says things and dresses all comes down to stereotypes and Dyer says stereotypes come down to power. Because of the way she does things this makes people think she is different to them. It will make people treat her differently because of her appearance. People watching the film can tell the character is represented differently because of the way the camera is placed when shes doing different things, the way the characters look at her and what they say to her and the way that the audience feel towards the character. The representation only reflects the way she is on herself. You can see throughout the trailer that the backgrounds make the audience see that shes a typical stereotyped female, as well as the looks that she gets, the way that she talks, and the image that she pulls off. As part of the audience you can tell that you are meant to look at the female in the way that males would to. Seeing the meaning of the film i would agree on the way that the the way the female is shown will be the way that stereotypical people would see the character as. You can tell this from a visual prospective. The representation on every film gives off a meaning.
